The Brief
Armakū asked us to create a 3D motion film for their ExoMars-inspired sample pack. The idea was to build a fictional Mars mission where a rover follows mysterious rhythmic signals across the Red Planet, eventually discovering a surreal alien gathering. The animation needed to feel cinematic, atmospheric and rooted in Mars’ visual language, while still supporting the playful, music-driven story behind the pack.
What We Did
We created a 2D and 3D hybrid animation that brings the ExoMars story to life. Our team designed the Mars environments, spacecraft, the ASA rover and the main moments of the mission, from launch to landing to the final alien reveal. We focused on atmosphere, lighting and pacing to build suspense, and added subtle rhythmic elements that connect back to the sample pack. The final film feels cinematic, imaginative and true to the world Armakū wanted to create.
